Dr. Arturo Chayet was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. His father was also an Ophthalmologist, and following family tradition he completed his Fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).
He has been Chairman of Mexican Society of Refractive Surgery.
In 1999 was selected to serve at the (ISRS) International Society of Refractive Surgery Board of Directors where in the year 2000 received the highest recognition as a refractive surgeon.
He also received the LANS award lecture for contributing to the development of several instruments, techniques and software in refractive surgery used by many of his peers around the world.
Dr Chayet today is the Executive and Medical Director of the CODET Vision Institute where he has performed thousands of procedures to patients from all around México, Southern California and Latin America.
In the year 2000 due to the necessity that he saw in the Tijuana rural communities, he founded CODET Foundation for the Prevention of the Blindness where he is an active member of the board.
Dr. Chayet has been featured on national television and in hundreds of publications which include Ophthalmology, American Journal of Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology and journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
