Fundación Codet para la Prevención de la Ceguera, I.B.P., emerged from the clinical practice of its founder, Dr. Arturo Chayet. In 1987, he began providing free of charge ophthalmological care to patients who could not afford his private medical treatment. The need to create a foundation arose to cover the demand of these patients.
