	Fundacion CODET para la Prevencion de la Cegura I.B.P (“CODET Foundation for Blindness Prevention”) is a non-profit organization with the MISSION to: Provide high quality technological and human ophthalmology services that are accessible to people of low resources to prevent blindness. When Dr. Arturo Chayet became aware of the great many people of low resources with ophthalomological problems that due to the lack of prevention and medical attention, there eyesight had been affected and therefore their quality of life, he made a personal commitment to help these people, and thus he established Fundacion CODET in 1998. Since its creation Fundacion CODET has worked without precedent in the State of Baja California, it provides those that are most in need with the opportunity to better their quality of life through clinical and surgical programs, eyesight correction and blindness prevention opportune treatments. Education, prevention, research and intervention are the pillars upon which Fundacion CODET'S VISION lies: To succeed in having a population free of blindness for lack of ophthalmological attention.







	• Provide ophthalmological services with state of the art technology, to all individuals of low resources. • Take part in the education of ophthalmologists during their formation so they become first-rate doctors. • Undertake scientific research studies for the development of medical techniques and procedures. • Educate, through health social workers, people in low resource and marginalized neighborhoods, in order to prevent blindness.
